## In customers' own words
_Verbatim quotes from this contractor's public reviews, each attributed to its source:_
> "We hired Michael to remove old carpeting and install new flooring. Upon meeting him for an estimate he explained our options. During our conversation Michael made a statement that hit the nail right on the head without me mentioning it that's when i knew i found the right person for the job. The work was completed professionally and on time, with great attention to detail also with Michael suggested some other finishing touches to my stairs while completing the job which added that WOW facture and know they look fantastic. He is respectful, clean, and very easy to communicate with throughout the project. The new flooring and stairs looks amazing, and we are very happy with the quality of the workmanship. I would definitely recommend Michael to anyone looking for flooring installation services."

> "Michael did an amazing job. I could tell he was experienced with flooring when he pointed out some flaws on our main floor right when he walked in; I thought I would only notice the flaws given I live in the space everyday. The work was not only done really well but the process was smooth and timely. I will definitely be using Michael for my flooring needs going forward and suggest you do as well."

## Before you hire a flooring contractor
_What to check when choosing this kind of trade (general guidance, not a claim about this business):_
- Trade licensing in Canada is set by each province or territory. Electrical, gas and plumbing are licensed trades almost everywhere (for example ESA for electrical and TSSA for gas in Ontario), so check your provincial regulator that the contractor is certified for the work before you hire.
- A construction lien is a real risk: in every province an unpaid subcontractor or supplier can register a lien against your home even if you already paid the main contractor. Hold back the statutory amount (commonly around 10%) and get signed lien waivers as you pay.
- Look for consistent reviews across several named sources, not one polished profile.
- Check any credential evidence, and that the business details independently check out.
- Get a written quote and keep guarantee, insurance and payment terms in writing.
