> "I am beyond impressed with the exceptional service provided by GVA Plumbing &Heating on New Year's Day! When our boiler suddenly went out, we were dreading the hassle of getting it fixed, especially on such a busy holiday. But GVA Plumbing &Heating Company came through with flying colors, arriving promptly and ready to work. Not only did they replace our old boiler and pipes efficiently, but they also offered a price that was reasonable better than any other quotes we had received. Mehmet was professional, courteous, and extremely knowledgeable, explaining every step of the process. He even took the time to ensure everything was working perfectly before leaving, making sure we were completely satisfied. It's rare to find a company that combines excellent service with such great value, especially on a holiday. I highly recommend GVA Plumbing & Mehmet to anyone in need of plumbing servicestruly a top-tier experience! THANK YOU, MEHMET!"

## Before you hire a plumber
_What to check when choosing this kind of trade (general guidance, not a claim about this business):_
- Agree the call-out fee, the hourly or fixed rate, and whether parts are charged on top, in writing, before an emergency plumber starts. Out-of-hours overcharging and 'while I'm here' add-ons are common complaints.
- Be wary of a plumber who, on a first visit, says your whole system or boiler must be replaced. Get a second opinion and an itemised quote (parts and labour separately) before agreeing to major work.
- Gas and boiler work is a separate, regulated trade, not general plumbing. Make sure anyone working on a gas appliance is specifically registered to do gas work, and ask to see that registration before they start.
- Trade licensing in Canada is set by each province or territory. Electrical, gas and plumbing are licensed trades almost everywhere (for example ESA for electrical and TSSA for gas in Ontario), so check your provincial regulator that the contractor is certified for the work before you hire.
- A construction lien is a real risk: in every province an unpaid subcontractor or supplier can register a lien against your home even if you already paid the main contractor. Hold back the statutory amount (commonly around 10%) and get signed lien waivers as you pay.
