## In customers' own words
_Verbatim quotes from this contractor's public reviews, each attributed to its source:_
> "Elmir is fantastic! Painting of entire interior and repair and paint of exterior stucco. On time always, price as quoted, very trustworthy and highly skilled. Would definitely call again for any future needed repair or renovation project."

> "Did very large reno. Here are some reasons why these guys are great: 1) Dont have to chase them to commit to doing a job I had been considering another contractor but getting them to nail down a start date, price, or even a return phone call, was frustrating. Father &Son was very clear on cost and gave exact start date that they stuck to. 2) Fast. If you go with them, be ready, because they move fast! No fooling around. No coming for an hour and then disappearing for a few days. 3) They mainly only take one job at a time. Ive had contractors that seem to have lots of jobs at once which then always seems to inevitably delay my job. 4) Is VERY upfront about the the estimate. Rather than lull you into thinking the cost will be X and then surprise you with some surprise cost once your into the job, they tell you upfront what they think it will actually cost, and why. Even when other contractors seem less expensive, they are willing to explain why their estimate may be higher (and not a smoke job). 5) Polite and respectful. Gracious team members. Never rude. Always cleaning up after any mess. 6) For the things they dont do themselves (eg cabinets) they have great partners that give good prices based on their relationship. 7) Willing to work with your preferred trades. I had a couple of specialists that I wanted involved on specific tasks, and they were happy to work together with them. Overall, again, FAST!"

## Before you hire a bathroom fitter
_What to check when choosing this kind of trade (general guidance, not a claim about this business):_
- Trade licensing in Canada is set by each province or territory. Electrical, gas and plumbing are licensed trades almost everywhere (for example ESA for electrical and TSSA for gas in Ontario), so check your provincial regulator that the contractor is certified for the work before you hire.
- A construction lien is a real risk: in every province an unpaid subcontractor or supplier can register a lien against your home even if you already paid the main contractor. Hold back the statutory amount (commonly around 10%) and get signed lien waivers as you pay.
- Ask to see a portfolio of completed work like yours, plus recent references you can contact.
- Check the credentials and registrations that matter for this work, and that they are current.
- Get a written, itemized quote with scope, assumptions and a staged payment schedule.
