He also travelled to various store locations to pick up supplies. Thank you Mamuka. We are very happy with the results. We are grateful to have you as our contractor / handyman. > "I cannot praise Manikano Construction highly enough. Mamuka has a perfect combination of mastery and good attitude. Our request was unusual, and he not only met all our needs and more, he actually took pride in figuring out the best and most reliable ways of doing all parts of the project. He showed up on time, didn't disappear, we didn't have to chase him around at any point. On the day he promised to finish the project, it was snowing heavily, and we suggested that he come back in better weather, but he stuck it out and finished when he said he would as a matter of pride! His attitude is excellent as well. We are not knowledgeable about construction, so we asked him questions and made suggestions that were probably silly or at least impractical. But he never showed any impatience, and if our requests were unreasonable, instead of talking down to us he found a BETTER and actually doable alternative. I'm already recommending Mamuka left and right to other people in our building, and he is the one I'll be calling for any other projects!"

> "What a nightmare our basement was. It was last renovated in the 1960s and came complete with furry, yes furry wallpaper, in every colour under the sun. There was a bright orange bar, hideous drop ceiling and homemade lighting. The laundry room had exposed pipes, a window that looked underneath an addition. A surprise hiding in the vents were homemade oil paintings - definitely a bizarre place and multicoloured lights in the bedroom. I called Mamuka to rescue what had become a storage space for us given my family hated going down there. He had completely renovated my kitchen (please see my other review) and I had complete trust in him to save us! He began demolishing all the walls, which were wood, ripping out the old bar, drop ceiling in the main room, laundry room and basement. He ripped the linoleum floor from the laundry room. From there he completely drywalls the entire basement, installed pot lights in every room, removed the old water pipes that ran along the ceiling and hid them between the walls. He replaced all the wiring in the entire basement as well and added a lot of new outlets. The basement ceiling was insulated for noise and the exterior walls were also insulated. He then installed a new vinyl floor throughout, a new 75inch tv on the wall and a new wall to hide the furnace and water tank. Finally he installed all new doors, baseboard and painted and carpeted the stairs. What an insane transformation. It is now my familys favourite hangout space. Thank you Mamuka! You are always professional, so easy to work with and always do excellent work! My friends and family cannot believe the transformation! Ive included before and after pictures to see the transformation. Lets say the transformat"

## Before you hire an HVAC contractor
_What to check when choosing this kind of trade (general guidance, not a claim about this business):_
- Trade licensing in Canada is set by each province or territory. Electrical, gas and plumbing are licensed trades almost everywhere (for example ESA for electrical and TSSA for gas in Ontario), so check your provincial regulator that the contractor is certified for the work before you hire.
- A construction lien is a real risk: in every province an unpaid subcontractor or supplier can register a lien against your home even if you already paid the main contractor. Hold back the statutory amount (commonly around 10%) and get signed lien waivers as you pay.
- Confirm they cover your area and can actually come out in your timeframe before anything else.
- Read recent reviews for reliability and turning up on time, not only the quality of the work.
- Agree the call-out fee up front, and be wary of large upfront deposits for an emergency job.
