It's a bit of a complicated story, but first let's say the the garage door installation went well and the door looks and operates perfectly. Now for the brief story. We ordered a garage door from Dodds since our previous door was long past its "best before date". One option with the order was to add "capping" which adds a white aluminum cap over the new wood that was required to frame the new door. Since the all the existing trim on our house was painted wood, we decided not to include the capping ($425 + tax). When a customer chooses not to have capping, Dodds would send "finished" wood for the installer to use for the frame. This is wood that would be paintable. That's not what happened. Instead Dodds sent "rough" wood not recalling that capping was not chosen. Of course the installer used what was provided and we now had a frame with wood that could not be painted and so we had no choice but to get the capping. Dodds agreed that it was their error and absorbed the full cost of the capping. We appreciate Dodds professionalism in this regard. If having a company deal with isues professionally is important to you, I suggest you choose Dodds Doors. Thank you Chris for your help and understanding.

I needed to replace my 20+ year old single garage door and contacted Dodds after seeing their great reviews and awards here on HomeStars. I want to add another great review. From my initial contact and home consult with Mike, scheduling and interim updates from Chris and final install by Hamid, simply put, l could not be happier. Everything was smooth, transparent, efficient and timely. The cost was also excellent. My needs and choices were met without any pressure to upgrade or add anything that l did not need. My new black garage door is beautiful and neighbours and friends have already complimented me on it. I would not hesitate to recommend Dodds to anyone looking to replace their garage door(s). When the time comes to replace my front door, Dodds will be hearing from me.

Thank you Dodds! Our son is an avid golfer and we wanted to put a golf simulator into our garage (and when football is on, we can just watch the simulator data on the computer screen and watch the game on the big screen) . Dodds removed the centre bar that used to lift open the garage and installed a side lift mechanism. It works perfectly and we love this new room in our house. Dodds was extremely easy to deal with and well priced.
