Victory Carpentry

We are very pleased with Victor's work and highly recommend him. Our original 1870s staircase was separating from the wall, creating instability and lots of creaking. We had delayed dealing with the situation because we were pretty sure that the fix would be time-consuming, messy and expensive. We are thrilled that Victor proved us wrong on all counts! His experience and great carpentry expertise enabled him to tackle only the risers and treads that were causing problems-- without having to do a major teardown of the under-stair area. Not only is Victor very skillful and honest-- he also takes great pride in his work and enjoys creative problem solving. We are so happy that he responded to our HomeStars request!

We have used Victor before for smaller jobs and were happy with his work. He just completed a sizeable bathroom reno for us. Victor and his team gutted and rebuilt the entire room and customized it with counter, cabinets and glass shower. We love our new bathroom. Victor takes a lot of pride in his work and it shows in the quality. As well, Victor is pleasant, respectful and easy to work with. The stairs in our 100+ year old home had old carpet, and the treads beneath were very creaky and in need of some repair. Victor and his team removed the carpet, removed the old glue and decades of gunk, and then cut and installed new treads and risers over top of the old. Due to their age the stairs are not straight, level or true in any way. Regardless, Victor did an unbelievable job. He really is a perfectionist, incredibly attentive to detail and a real master carpenter. For the landings he integrated the treads with the engineered hardwood we used for the floors. This required some complex and detailed carpentry work, which you would never know from how clean the install is. Before, halfway (carpet off) and after photos are attached. To save some money I pre-stained and then varnished the risers/treads, and also painted the railings and stringers myself. As always, Victor was happy to be flexible on the scope and we agreed on a price that worked for both of us. We are as always with Victor's work extremely happy with the outcome - thanks again!

We had flooring renovations underway in an old house, removing several layers of flooring, with a problem found under the kitchen flooring. On very short notice, Victor and his team were able to to come by to fix the problem and assist with floor leveling for a reasonable price. Victor and his team then returned after the flooring was complete to do an excellent job adding new trim and door jambs because so much flooring had been removed, making the trim look a lot straighter than the house itself. Victor is very clear with his plan beforehand and was happy to explain how the project was going along the way.

We needed to reconfigure a wall in our basement to improve access for storage and create a more functional tv wall. Victor and his crew were great to work with and always left the work area clean and tidy each day before they left. Victor is meticulous and has fine craftmanship, hes passionate about his work and ensures he delivers the highest level of quality. He walked us through every detail and step to make sure we were on the same page and we worked together on design changes where needed. We were so happy with his work that we hired him again to build our front porch railing. We highly recommend Victor!
