- Structural steel in a building needs to match the permit drawings and be inspected: confirm how it ties into your project's permit and review.
- Get a written scope: the steel grade, sizes, finish/coating (galvanising or paint for corrosion), and delivery and installation responsibilities.
- Check liability insurance and a current workers' compensation clearance (WSIB/WorkSafeBC/WCB).
