Kitchen Backsplash Installation John is a talented and professional contractor. He completed my kitchen backsplash in two days. He was tidy, had immense knowledge on the job and will be a long term contractor I use for other projects in my house.

Complete Bathroom Renovation We engaged John to renovate our main bathroom in our 40 year old house. It took a little longer than expected but this having been our first big project in the house, we are happy with the end result. John was happy to install whatever materials and fixtures we chose and gave a reasonable estimate on the cost of the job. Worker Rick was a great communicator about the status of the project and keeping me in the loop. We will likely use John for future projects.

New Deck Boyd Renos designed and built my new deck, disassembled the old one and cleaned up. The deck is superb, very solid and much enjoyed by me and my little dog. Even additional items I wanted done were installed well, with a minimum of fuss. Friendly, courteous service.

Kitchen Renovation I would not recommend Boyd Renovations. Timelines were not respected, the work was subpar, and issues proved very difficult to resolve; Despite repeated requests over the course of the project, John did not provide proof of General Liability Insurance for himself and his employee (or proof of WSIB coverage). Pic 1 = Plumbing installed along the floor in a position that would cause the dishwasher rails to sit directly on the plumbing lines and not slide under a standard height counter. Pic 2 = Once the drywall was cut away from an exterior wall, I had to argue and firmly insist for the disjointed drywall to be removed and for a proper vapour barrier to be installed. After submitting an invoice for materials that was contrary to the signed contract and written agreement, John refused to return to the site to complete the job unless I provided an upfront payment. I regret hiring Boyd Renovations and would not use them again for any project.

Bathroom Late on delivering the washroom, was doing other jobs than finishing my washroom. I found them subpar, no wow factor.

Kitchen Tiles Although substrate was not standard, John gave us the correct advice. Matt the installer was meticulous, precise and patient. Did 60 square feet of 2x8 inch tile with great care and above all, attention to the smallest detail. Our kitchen floor has now joined 2020!! Thank you

Bathroom Renovation Shower pours water when tub faucet turned on; this is due to the fact John did not adhere to manufacturer installation instructions on faucet. I will have to hire a plumber to open the wall and repair this poor work. Hanging Vanity literally fell off the wall a few days after installation. John hung the vanity using WALL ANCHORS, an NO STUDS, resulting in small chips in new floor tiles, chip in vanity, and had to install legs on vanity. John and helper were seen on video doorbell camera saying there is no f'n way the vanity fell off the wall; that we had to have pulled it off or sat on it while shaving legs. Boyd Renovations does not understand how hanging a vanity using wall anchors (the same ones you use to hang a picture) would cause it to crash to the ground. He also doesn't understand the mechanics behind the plumbing issue he has caused. Not only is he reluctant to fix it properly, but does not know how. I would not recommend this business if you are looking for quality work you can trust. I have filed a complaint through the BBB, which John ignored; demonstrating lack of professionalism and owning up to his mistakes.

Fireplace Update From the moment I reached out to Boyd Renovations, I was very pleased with being able to schedule a quote so fast, John showed up on time for our meeting, was very professional and listened to our wants/ideas and provided us with a detailed quote. Once we decided to hire Boyd Renovations we contacted John to schedule the work. John showed up on time, was well prepared, organized and had all materials needed to complete the work. He was always respectful to us and our home. Boyd Renovations completed a fireplace update, tile update and painted our living room. The work was completed on time, on budget (as quoted) and the craftsmanship was impeccable. I am so pleased with the work completed by Boyd Renovations and I would highly recommend them to anyone. Bathroom Renovation John built a gorgeous bathroom with a custom walk-in shower in a tricky space. The results were breathtaking; quality workmanship, attention to detail, done quickly and for a competitive price. Highly recommend!
